Our aim is to obtain harmony between muscles, joints and teeth.
Neuromuscular Dentistry relates malocclusion (crooked teeth or bad bites) back to facial, head and neck pain. Neuromuscular Dentistry is a simple treatment which can be life changing for some patients.
Do you suffer from:
- Head, jaw, ear, or facial pain
- Neck, shoulder and back pain
- Clicking, popping or grating sounds in the jaw joint
- Being unable to open the mouth comfortably or locking of the jaw when attempting to open the mouth wide
- A bite that feels uncomfortable or not quite right
- Swelling on the side of the face
- Ringing in the ears, ear ache or decreased hearing
- Dizziness and vision problems
You may be one of the many undiagnosed TMJ disorder sufferers. Unfortunately, many people just live with facial pain and headaches; however, research shows that this pain can be relieved with bite correction.
Once established, malocclusion makes it impossible for you to put your jaw in an ideal position. This can be a problem when we set out to restore your bite and/or your appearance. If left untreated, the muscles can be set in a tense state which may lead to problems in later life.
